The AFS Global Up Abroad develops learners’ global competence before, during and after an international experience. The curriculum is delivered in 18 online modules supported by a trained Qualified Facilitator. Learners will Global Up by engaging in reflection, live dialogue sessions, peer forums and using their experiences as ways to make intercultural theories come to life. After completing the Global Up Abroad learners are equipped with skills and strategies for using their self-awareness and awareness of others for how to bridge across differences while in a new context and when they return home.

The Global Up At Home brings into learners’ awareness that culture is all around us, even within our own communities or local context. Learners will Global Up by engaging in the curriculum that’s categorized into modules that bring them Inward, Outward and Forward. The full set modules below can be used as shown or rearranged and tailored to meet the needs of a specific audience. After completing the Global Up At Home learners are equipped with skills and strategies for using their self-awareness and awareness of others for how to bridge across differences while working on a diverse team, studying with peers or being an active member of their community.
